A pipe in our garage ceiling split in a cold snap. Now what?
Shut the sprinkler control valve, drain the mess, and call. We replace the damaged section and, just as important, correct the exposure, usually missing insulation above the garage ceiling or an air leak feeding cold onto the run. Both halves are the repair.
Water stains keep appearing around one head. Slow leak?
Probably a weeping head or a loose fitting above it, and either way it is only heading one direction. A stain that comes back is the system asking for a visit; the fix is typically a head swap or fitting repair in a single trip.
Our well-fed system’s pump has never been tested. Is that bad?
It means nobody knows whether the sprinklers would flow, which is its own answer. Pumps need to be run under load periodically, and one that has sat for years often will not start when asked. Book the check before the question gets asked by a fire.
